Meet the iDREAM Team for the 2015-2016 School Year
Nicole LaBella & Monica Vojtaskovic
A collaborative team, Nicole LaBella and Monica Vojtaskovic, have team taught for 20+ years at the middle school level, have been both been awarded the title, "Teacher of the Year," have shared a passion for the arts, and a desire to bring creativity to the classroom. Friends themselves since middle school, Nicole and Monica understand, value, and celebrate each others strengths. Each have a M.A. in Leadership in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as Supplementary Credentials in English. Monica and Nicole were Program Coordinators at JMMS, where they tracked student/school progress, led tutoring programs in all subject areas/grade-levels, and worked on specialized instruction/curriculum. In addition, they share interest and experience in a variety of both Visual Arts (drawing, painting, photography, and ceramics) and Performing Arts (drama, dance, musical theater, and tech theater). In taking on the challenge to develop a classroom for 21st century learners, the two hope to impart to their students what they do best: TEAMWORK...communicate positively, brainstorm together to tackle monumental tasks, collaboratively create, divide and conquer, accept and offer, encourage and inspire!

Educational Philosophy:
It is my belief that all students are gifted in their own way. It is not how smart ARE they but HOW are they smart. Utilizing brain based research, multiple intelligences and Quantum Learning theory; I embrace all modalities of learning. If you were to visit my classroom you would see active learning using all parts of the brain, you would hear call backs, clapping and cheers, and you would feel a sense of community that allows for a safe place for students to take a risk so that they can learn to the fullest!! It is my goal that each student will be successful in mastering the standards to the fullest of their abilities.
